Bath, snuggles, bedtime, and lunches

Sunday night. School night. My honey's having a "guys' weekend" (went sailing with some friends) so I've had the kids all weekend. It's been full and fun (what a relief)! Yesterday took them to karate and then decided that it would be fun to pick up lunch at the grocery store and head to the park for a picnic. It was a hit. Glad I had a big blanket in my car to lay on the grass. Another family let both boys do some fishing in the little lake. Sean caught 10 little fish. Ryan wanted to get in on the action.

Headed to the bookstore after that (had promised Ryan a trip before we left for karate). Didn't find the book he wanted (bummer). Then headed to the sporting goods store to pick up Sean's protective gear for their upcoming karate tournament. It was simply a fun day.

Today they wanted to head back to the same park but we went to their younger cousins' birthday party. Finally got baths done, kids in bed and spent some time snuggling and rubbing lotion on their feet (their favorite bedtime routine after baths). It's late and I need to get to bed. My ongoing dilemma: 1) Stay up doing some work, playing on facebook, reading a magazine, etc. which I enjoy; or 2) Get in bed and get some sleep which I need.

Ok, I'll finish posting and then get moving in the direction of bed. Still need to finish packing lunches and clean the kitchen from dinner mess . . . maybe the kitchen part will wait until tomorrow.
